Cai was about to respond to the man that had interfered, but by the time he had started to speak, he found himself gripped by the neck and winded.

Lydia was a little startled about what had just happened, she didn't know what to do but she was thankful that Cai was occupied and was contemplated running away but somehow couldn't find the strength to move.

Cai was now attempting to shake his attacker off, though he was limited as to what he could do, considering he was still being gripped tightly around the neck, and the man was obviously stronger than him, (cause he's a vampire and all)

"You really wanna try that buddy? I suggest you just give up now." The man holding Cai down said.

"I suggest you realize you have the wrong idea," Cai grumbled, but stopped resisting. However, a faint light began to emanate from him, though at a slow enough rate to be unnoticeable until it was blinding, which it wasn't at that point yet.

"And I suggest you don't move or I'll break your arm." the man replied as he tried to get the handcuffs he was wearing on his belt loop off with one hand.

OOC: Every responsible father should always carry handcuffs and a castrater

"Not like it would matter anyway," Cai grumbled, inaudibly, as always, before glaring at the man. "I don't want to have to fight you," he said, as the light got slightly brighter, and would probably be noticeable to the man as, you and I know, he was a vampire.

"And I don't want to fight you either but I don't tollerate creeps harrasing women." The man responded.

"P-please.. Don't hurt him.. let him go..." Lydia said in a tone too soft to be audible.

OOC: Just blind him already.

"I wasn't harassing her. Quit the opposite," Cai said, getting more and more irritated with the man. And then, suddenly, the light was bright enough to be blinding. Not to Lydia, who was a bit further away, but definitely to the unknown man.

The man reacted instinctively as he recoiled from Cai and threw his arms up in front of his face, he kicked Cai on his way up and continued to kick Cai to attack Cai like a wounded animal with repeated kicks, he wasn't exactly aiming or doing so with any kind of a goal but it was keeping Cai from standing none the less.

Even though he was freed from the man, Cai couldn't quite manage to escape, being kicked at random. He tried to wriggle away from the man, but by this time he was in a lot of pain.

Now Lupa and Tala had been left behind in some shop in Windtown when Leo had left them for some reason or another. Now, seeing the fight, without any context, Lupa was quite ticked off. Especially when she recognized the man that was being attacked by her seemingly crazy husband. "Leo, just what do you think you're doing to Cai?" she said, loud enough to be heard by everyone, but calm enough to actually seem very pissed, as she had begun to show more emotion in recent years, and her calm, emotionless state was now not normal, but very terrifying.

Leo stopped kicking Cai and rubbed his eyes furiously which made it seem like he had gone insane. He spun around and his eyes were bloodshot pinpoints that were practically glowing red and his fangs had grown out, everything was too blurry to distinguish and his skin felt like it was on fire. He rushed at Lupa and tried to attack her, not recognizing who she was.

At the same time Lydia watched speechlessly in horror as Cai was kicked repeatedly and rushed over to his side as soon as she had the chance. "I'm so sorry.. I'm so sorry Cai." She sobbed apologetically.

OOC: Lupa was raised by wolves, I'm pretty sure she knows what an injured animal is like and especially an injured predator, granted she doesn't exactly know what's going on Id assume the misunderstanding+dad+blinding= viable excuse in the end.

Lupa remained calm as the obviously blinded vampire rushed at her. "Tala," was all she had to say to get her daughter to back away as Leo rushed towards them. Realizing that he wouldn't calm down by her yelling at him, she said to him telepathically Calm yourself, Leo. Moron. It was a whisper, so as to not seem like an intrusion into his mind. At the same time, she side-stepped him as he rushed at her, causing him to run right past her. She then turned to face him again, trying to bide some time until he regained his senses.

Cai was slowly sitting up, now that his attacker was gone. "It's...it's okay Lydia," he said, gasping for breath, as his whole body was still in pain.

Leo ran into a lamp post and fell down, he wasn't unconscious but he wasn't about to get up either. He clawed at his eyes and howled obscenities more in his half subconscious mind more than anything considering he was not in a state to vocalize them but any shapeshifter in a mile radius could probably hear them though.

Lydia hugged Cai and buried her face in his chest, "It's all my fault.." she sobbed almost inaudibly as the noise was muffled by Cai's shirt.

Lupa was visibly affected, tensing up as she was bombarded with Leo's screams, which caused a very painful headache as she had still been in connection with hi mind when he started screeching. "Calm down all ready, idiot" she yelled back at him as soon as her mind was able to cut through the endless waves of profanity. Tala, on the other hand, seemed to be having a harder time dispelling the thoughts, considering she'd never had to deal with a shrieking individual before, so she was almost on her knees from the sudden attack on her mind.

Now Cai, on the other hand, had mostly recovered, feeling a bit sore but otherwise unharmed. "No, don't blame yourself, Lydia," he said, returning her hug, though he was getting really fed up with people blaming themselves for stuff that happened to other people. Now, noticing the change in posture of the two ladies that had showed up to save him, he changed the subject. "Any idea what's wrong with them?"

Lydia gently shook her head without looking up, she knew she could have stopped the man in the first place if she had just explained but she was in so much pain that she didn't want to stop it, she wanted to see Cai hurt, the same way that he hurt her deeply; but she still felt guilty for thinking that way in the first place.

Leo's mentally projected howling turned more into whines and whimpers as the pain subsided but the large colorful blob in his vision refused to dissipate even when he closed his eyes.

Lupa assumed that he had calmed down enough to be approached, so she took a few steps towards him.

At time went on Lydia wanted more and more to push Cai off of her and run away but she was too cold and stiff and she knew Cai would catch her; besides, she was enjoying the warmth Cai was giving off too much to protest against it, so much so shat she was falling asleep at a worrying yet ultimately inconsequential rate as it was merely from exhaustion.

Leo didn't move except to turn his head and stare blankly in the direction he heard Lupa's footsteps from, "Who's there?" Leo asked with a little bit of a worried tone in his voice as he was unable to really see.

*ignores Lydia for right now cause she's more concerned with Leo*

"Your wife. Can you here me now?" Lupa said, giving him a pissed off expression, though she knew he couldn't see so it didn't matter.

"Wait! Where is that jerk? Did that girl get away safely" Leo asked.

"That jerk, as you called him is still here, and so is the girl. They are both perfectly fine," Lupa said, sounding quite irritated at Leo.

Meanwhile, Tala had wandered over to Cai and Lydia. Cai had let go of Lydia for the most part, feeling a bit uncomfortable for holding her hug for so long. "Are you two okay?" Tala asked, and Cai responded with a slight nod.

"Wait what do you mean? He was harassing her I saw it!" Leo replied with a mix of anger, certainty and confusion.

"I know that man well enough to say that he doesn't intend to harass anyone, and I know you well enough to say that you jump to conclusions pretty quick," Lupa said, crossing her arms as she spoke.

"I saw it! She tried run away from him and he grabbed her by the arm! She was yelling at him to leave her alone!" Leo replied, more than a little frustrated.

"Well, she doesn't seem to want to run away now," Lupa retorted, glancing at Cai and Lydia.
