Shade waited by the lake, playing with a woolly caterpillar.

Miya arrived, walking into the clearing as silent as a ninja.

Shade smelled human blood. He smirked, letting his guard up without showing it.

"I can tell you can sense me." She said, breaking the silence.

"I can tell you know." Shade replied, examining a blade of grass with a drop of dew on it.

"Are we going to keep wasting our words, or fight?" Miya said, taking out her scythe from behind her.

"Very well." Shade said. "Make a move and see if you can catch me."

Miya nodded. After a few moments of focusing, she darted towards Shade, and swung at him.

The scythe hit him, but when he did, he poofed into dust. He stood leaning on a tree. "Missed me."

Miya didn't say anything. She wasn't emotionless, but all there was was ambition in her eyes. She bolted over to the tree as she turned around, trying to jab Shade with her scythe.

Shade ducked when the scythe was swung at him, making it hit the tree. He disappeared.

Miya didn't pull the scythe out the the tree, but instead turned around, trying to see where he would appear next as she kept her hand close to her gun.

Shade stood in front of her and made himself visible. He had a sarcastic smile.

Miya pulled out her guns, one in each hand, and started shooting.

Shade poofed again, then was in a tree.

"It's kind of unfair to do that." She said, shooting up at him.

"Some things are just not fair." He said, appearing behind her.

It took Miya a couple of seconds to realize he was there, and turned around, but not fast enough.

Shade smiled and threw her into the lake.

Miya couldn't swim, and it was one of her greatest weaknesses. She went under, trying to struggle, until she got enough down where she just gave up on struggling, and passed out.

Shade sighed. He dived in and grabbed her by the wrist, pulling her up. He set her on the ground and sat in a tree nearby.

Miya was soaked, and layed on the ground, not moving. She was passed out.

Shade waited for her to wake up, shaking water out of his hair.

After a while, she slowly woke up. When her eyes were fully open, she immediately went up into a sitting position and coughed up water, unaware of Shade.
