Reunited at Last

Minata hesitated before nodding as she opened the door and got out. "I-Is it really alright if I come? I mean, I don't want to be in your way or anything.." She said.

"It's fine." Hikari said, walking toward the door.

Minata slowly followed her towards the door.

Once they were inside, Shade immediatly plopped on the couch. "I think I'm gunna sleep here tonight. That ok?"
"Sure, why not?" Hikari said. "Sora, you can stay here too. The good hotels are a little pricey, and the other ones... you get the idea."
"Thanks." Sora said, sitting on a pull-out chair.

Minata sat on a chair closet to her. She had never felt so awkward in her life.

"Do you have anywhere to stay?" Hikari said to Minata.
Shade turned on his side. "And whats your name, age, e-mail address, phone number, PO Box, origins, and social security number? >:D "

Minata shook her head. "No, I kinda just got shipped here without planning before, and I'm Minata, Minata Kato." She replied.

"You could stay if you like." Hikari said.

"Really?" She asked.

"Of course!" Hikari said. Shade glanced at Hikari concerningly.

"Thank you! You're the nicest person to me so far!- I mean, t-thanks." Minata said.

Sora let out a purr as he streched out his arms and legs.
"Now I can't stop thinking about New York..." Shade groaned.

"Then try thinking about something else." Minata suggested.

Shade stared at Minata with red eyes. "You have no idea how hard that is for me." He said, ice in his tone.

"S-Sorry." She mumbled, looking down.

"Don't pay attention to Shade." Sora said. "He gets like that."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Shade protested.

"You know, being a grouch isn't going to get you anywhere." Minata said quietly.

"What did you just say, you little-"
"SHADE!" Hikari shouted. "Dont make me hurt you!"
Sora sighed. "It'd be better if you didn't upset him. One wrong move and you're dead. Literally."
"Damn right..." Shade said quietly.

Minata jumped out of her chair. "Yeah, it's true! But obviously you woudn't understand because your a meanie like that!" She yelled to Shade.

"Understand what, exactly?" Shade said calmly.

"How people feel when others do that to them." Minata replied, not thinking before blurting it out.

Shade stood up and walked dangerously close to Minata. "You think I don't know? After all these years you think I don't know. You know what I think? I think YOU don't know. You don't, do you?"
"Shade, be good." Sora warned.

Minata tightened her hands into fists as she stared him in the eyes. "Then why do you act like them. And I do know." She said with hostility in her voice, her tail flicking around angerly.

"You have no idea." Shade said. "And act like who?"

"Those people.. those... people.." She mumbled, looking down, trying to find a word for them.
