Me and Emb

Crocket walked onto the soft sand in his swimming trunks and a t-shirt and looked around for Nyra. She wasn't there yet so he took his shirt off and walked into the water and laid on his back floating.

Nyra had arrived about 5 minutes later in her Bikini. She ran into the water and hoped to surprise Crocket. She splashed alot of water on him. "Boo!" she said, laughing.

Crocket jumped when she ran in the water and splashed him he laughed and splashed her back "You scared me!" he joked

Nyra squealed when she got water on herself. She burst out laughing. "Never thought I'd be late." she chuckled. "So," she said.

Crocket laughed and said "I brought some food"

Nyra smiled. "What kind?" she asked.

"Italiano" he said joking in an Italian accent

Nyra chuckled, her stomach growling. "Where's it at?" She joked, sitting down in the water.

"Over by that tree" he said pointing to a nearby tree

Nyra nodded. "It looks yummy." she said, putting her hand on her stomach. "You've been so kind to me, I feel bad." she said.

"Why do you feel bad?" He asked his blue eyes locked on hers

Nyra sighed. "I-I feel so bad. you've been so kind and I've done barely anything." she said.

"You don't need to feel bad, I like do nice things for people" he said putting a hand on her shoulder

She smiled. "Thanks." Her eyes were full with something... new to her.

Crocket smiled he too felt something new and his eyes also showed it "Lets eat" he said

Nyra nodded. "Lets." she said, grinning. She got out of the water and went over to the tree, smelling the delicious food. "Mmm." she said.

Crocket followed her out and picked his shirt up but didn't put it back on. He walked to the tree and hung the wet shirt on a branch and opened a basket and pulled two wrapped plates of spaghetti out and unwrapped one and handed Nyra one.

Nyra took the plate gladly. "Thank you." she said, and started to eat after taking a fork out of the basket.

"Your welcome" he said then unwrapped his plate then started eating "So..."

Nyra swallowed a bite of her Spaghetti. "Yeah?" She asked.

He took a bite and said "Do you want to tell me about yourself?"

Nyra nodded. "Sure." She said. She cleared her throat and began. "I came from a small family and we were very poor. When I found out I was an Animeer my mother was overjoyed, she loved owls and I loved them even more. My parents both died soon after I was 5 and I never knew much about them. I've lived for a long time and I'm glad I have. Life is precious to me. I would have never spent any of my time better." she said. "I also know how to play the fiddle." she said.

Crocket listened intently and his eyes softened as he listened and said when she was finished "My parents died when I was young too...I do like owls though"

Nyra blushed. "You met the right Animeer." she said, finishing her Spaghetti. "That filled me up." she said. Her eyes showed she was listening, and something else, love.

He smiled and his eyes locked on hers and his hand on her shoulder moved to her cheek
